Chilling tonight watching the UEFA Cup Final. Tomorrow is the gig at Cats. It was fucking hot as hell today. The house is an oven. It was 33C or 91F. Joder! Juan came and got my cymbals earlier. I'll be using his cousin's drums, which should be interesting. But i play all these crappy kits at the practice studio, so it will be fine. I gave Juan my snare, an extra cymbal stand and my pedal. I love my kit but it is hard to transport with only Juan's Mini. There's a lot of lugging involved. And i have to work so i won't get to the gig til 8:30. Juan's cousin's band starts at ten. We go on at eleven.

Spanish football announcers suck. It sounds just like gibberish.

Werder Bremen just scored in extra time. They are playing a Ukranian team whose name i have no idea how to pronounce, let alone spell.

The allergy levels are nuts right now. Stuff flying in the air. I'm okay today. I was dying yesterday.

Our brand new floor is ruined again. The pipes poked right up through the floor again. But it looks like they recemented it. Idiots. You have to fix the leak before you lay the floor. Which is why they should take care of the mold in my closet first. The plumbers here are morons.

Summer Tour 2009

Finally got my summer tour dates!

I arrive to JFK at 4:10 pm on July 13
I leave at 6:00pm on September 3

It'll be a a solo tour. Just Summer, no Raincoats.

I'll be in VT for the Rock and Roll Rage that same week where there will hopefully be Wayward Platypus and Homer and the Doughnuts Reunions.

Seven and a half weeks of kicking around the New World. Which is my old world. This continent hopping gets so confusing.

Atletico won a nail-biting 1-0 game over Valencia to move into the coveted 4th spot on the table, which means qualifying for the Champions League. Yeah! 1 home game left the last weekend in May.

life in hell

as if the Caps being destroyed wasn't bad enough, they are finishing the floor outside my room. I awoke to saws and sanders. Why today when i had the morning off? Then i need to clean out my closet so they can clean out the mold (ugh!) and repaint it later in the day. This place is a hell hole. At least it will be nicer for when Bryan gets here.

No band for 5 days. Yeah! I have a stiff neck from carrying a lot of the drums on Metro sunday. It feels better when it is loose though, and i was able to play alright last night.

Bo is my bitch. He shakes my hand begrudingly and flinches when I put my hand on his shoulder or something when i am navigating through the studio. I own his soul, he is so angry and scared of me. Que una idiota!

It is sandy in here. I hate my life right now.

One class at 2. Then a picnic in the Retiro Park. Hooray! Then sleeping. And editting. And more sleeping.

San Isidro weekend. Just another holiday in a country full of holidays.

I hope i can take a shower before i go.. God damn you Chema for not doing something about this last year when i first told him. Goddamn you to hell.

Mejor (better).They are gone, but they are coming back tonite at five to piut one last coat on the hardwood floor. I will be out in the Retiro with the sun on my face picnicing.

I have two parties to go to tonight but i am just one man. Then Caps - Pens at 1:00Am. What a series this has been!

It was fucking 30C yesterday! I was sweating my ass off. It is a bit cooler today.

Last night Tamara threw a party at Triskell's with an open mic. I sang and played tambourine on 'Fuck and Run' with her and Pete. Then Lee, Juan and I did 'Roadhouse Blues' and '500 miles.' Eevryone sang 500 Miles. It was hysterical.

Also hysterical was when Tamara put the mike in front of me to sing the line "I want a boyfriend" in the Liz Phair song. The place was roaring.

Pete and Tamara also did an acoustic song with some lyrics i had written called 'Perfectly something'. It was great.

And we have a gig on the hotel rooftop tomorrow. A practice really with like 20 people. A dry run for when we hopefully get a new date for June. If it doesn't rain. Hmmm. if Bo accidently fell off of the roof....

The worst person i've ever met

That was a nice moment from the gig last Jueves.

But this week has sucked.

oy! too old for this i am. Some classes may be canceling in June.
But i have an opportunity for some new ones.

For the record, Bo, our bassist is worst person i have ever met. And i've met a lot of bad people. He's the most selfish and dishonest person i ever met. He's abusive to his ex-girlfriend, who he broke up with but still lives with.


He refuses to play a gig on the roof of a hotel on June 6th that would pay of 500E (that i set up!) so he can abuse her for one last weekend before she goes.

Bo ran a marathon two weeks ago (that fucked up all our practices before the last gig). Cara went to help his ex- current girlfriend cuz she needed to give him water and stuff and needed a extra hands. When Bo finally saw her he ran over and started cursing her out for some reason. He started to run and then stopped and turned back to curse her out again. In the middle of the marathon! And he's such an oblivious moron that Cara got a bunch of it on film! She said she almost put it on Facebook but thought the better of it. That would have been hysterical!

He's one of these people who fools a lot people. Very manipulative. But a lot of people who get to know him hate him. All his ex/current girlfriend's friends hate him.

Last night, after practice, in front of Juan and, because Bo wanted to 'talk this out,' I tore him to pieces. I think he went home and cried. I can only hope! Never have i met a man who acts more like an 8 year old girl with the flu. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Waaaaaaaaaaa!

Some of the people in this world are just insane. And bad, evil, people.

So... i'll give it one last chance. Lee told me he'll leave if we can't get it sorted. I told him that i'd leave first. I love playing with Pete and Tamara. I have the other band. I don't need the bullshit.

Time to shower and go teach two private classes. Then Tamara and Pete have an acoustic gig tonite. Here's hoping the weekend is better than the week.

The curious thing is that we sounded awesome in practice.

Wow! I am blown away. It went really well last night and we were offered two gigs on the spot. One at a castle (wtf?) for a party and one on the roof of the Vicci Via hotel (where i was last seen dancing a few sundays ago). Good energy. Lee's voice was really good. Juan smoked on guitar. The bassist was all over the place and lost, but the drums and guitar were tight so it was fine. People said the nicest things about us! Very psyched. So now i shower and go off to wine country. Thanks to all of you who sent messages wishing us luck. Vale. Vamos a Rioja!
