Caught between the twisted stars
the plotted lines
the faulty map
that brought Columbus to New York

Students are always complimenting me on my teaching. Nice to be
appreciated, but so much has to do with the student's enthusiasm.
This other student, Ana, saw I had the lyrics to Dark Side of the Moon and
was like "Oh yeah." So we'll do that tomorrow. Gotta love a chick my age
into Floyd. Married - of course - to a drummer. At least she has good taste.
Speaking of which, we'll see if these dudes I jammed with invite me to be in
their band. I would change their dynamic as they just use programming now.
EEEEEEK! Evil. And I'm an opinionated fuck.

But they write talking heads kinds of songs. I thought i kind of nailed the
tunes, having never heard them before. Some lyrics in English and some in
Spanish - Que Bueno!
The bassist is English/Spanish, guitarist is Spanish, And I, of course, am an
unapologetic American. We'll see.
Food's good here, accomodations good.
The funniest thing was when I asked Juan Jo the simple past tense of 'Take."
"Toke," he answered.
I explained that it was "took," that toke meant to smoke and usually meant
herb. He turned red and vehemently argued that he didn't smoke marijuana.
Fair enough.
This line is burning
Turning to ash as it hits the air
Every step is a day in the week
It's a Wednesday or Thursday
A march over months of the year
Travel.
Arrival
Years of an inch and a step
Toward a source
I'm coming to you
I'll be there in time
-Suzanne Vega
