Sounds of the Day

Sounds of the day
I've got my own way
-The Adults
  • At least McCain was gracious. Where the hell was that guy during this election? He looks like a man who knows he has sold his soul.

  • When i finally got out of bed, my inbox was flooded with emails from former students congratulating me on the election. Most of them were very excited. It's a time of hope. A time for change. Most Spanish people like Americans. They know that the last 8 years have not been something that most of Americans they meet wanted.

  • It's kind of amazing. I am half a world away, yet still voting and watching this historic moment live. The party last night had the atmosphere of a football game with the stakes being much higher. CNN Predicted Obama the winner just past 5AM and we left.

  • That said, Atleti was ROBBED of a win last night night when Liverpool was awarded a penalty at Anfield on a bogus foul in the 94th minute. What????!!!!!!!! That arbitro (referee) is a monkey fucker!

  • I can't leave my laptop. I am hypnotized! So much news coming through electronic impulses. I started chatting with another woman named Yoly (short of Yolanda, i would think). Anyway, she only speaks Spanish. But I am holding my own. Writing is much easier for me. And Google Translator is amazing! I try to put it together and then check it, make revisions and send.

  • And then there's Eva, Warrior Princess. Hubba hubba! I'm down with that role playing stuff. What's better than mixing Dungeons and Dragons with sex?

  • I'm learning crucial phrases in Spanish like,

    • Me gusta el rock progresivo. (i like progressive rock)

    • Yo leo ciencia ficción (i read science fiction)

    • Me gusta sentarse y comer un pollo asado. (I enjoy sitting down and eating a whole roasted chicken)

I figure they might as well know what they are getting into. If they can't deal with it, it will never work anyway.
