The song is over
It's all behind me
I should have known it
She tried to find me
Our love is over
They're all ahead now
I've got to learn it
I've got to sing out
-The Who
Well, it was nice to see La Profesora. Nothing was solved, course. I am no closer to enlightenment on this issue. What else is new? We'll see. Maybe we'll be friends or maybe we'll be lovers again or maybe i'll soon see her for the last time ever.
Life is like a beanstalk, isn't it?
That said, the students have done very well on their tests thus far, which is always good news as the students aren't usually held very accountable. A lot of them have really improved and remember the little tricks I've taught them for dealing with bitchy stuff like some or any, do vs. make, much or many, well vs. good. It's been a really fun experience for me, as i believe it has for the students. They really are a good bunch this year. Not the like the thankless job at Banesto last year with all of those start from scratch beginners. I walked in the first day, waved and said hello. They immediately started talking in Spanish and asking 'What did he say?"
Fucking hell. Use your brain would you? What could i possibly have said for the first time they'd laid eyes on me other than HELLO?
Whew! Much better this year.
And things could always be worse. I could be John Terry, captain of Chelsea, who missed the winning penalty kick in the Champions League Final. I could be Willie Randolph. I could be George Bush's brain. What a lonely empty warehouse that must be.
