From Boom to Bust

You know how that rabbit feels

Going under your speeding wheels

Bright images flashing by

Like windshields towards a fly

Frozen in the fatal climb

But the wheels of time

Just pass you by

Wheels can take you around

Wheels can cut you down

We can go from boom to bust

From dreams to a bowl of dust

We can fall from rockets' red glare

Down to "Brother can you spare...

"Another warAnother wasteland

And another lost generation

-Rush

Firday night was great. I met Patricia, we sat in a park at night and watched the lit up fountain and talked. Very Romantic. Then we went to an Argentinian barbecue place. They bought us two of every animal, barbecued. We shared a great Argentinain red wine.

She works a 12 hour shift today, so i asked what she was doing on Sunday, her only day off. She said she may meet a friend, but even so, we could all meet in the park. I doth think she likes me.

SO we took the Metro and said goodbye. I went to the local, saw the chicas and chicos and then went home. Now it was Saturday. Not so good.

My friends and I were trying to jam today, but I needed the Internet to book a place (they all fill up). SO i went out at the porch at three -thirty. Mel beeped in on messenger, then called. I didn´t have my camera and mic, so i stood up to get it. Out of my pocket comes the phone. One bounce on the tile and down onto Calle Bravo Murillo.

It´s a French piece of shit called a Sagem. It wouldn´t survive a fall off of a table, let alone 5 stories onto concrete. It was toasted. The phone contains all my numbers, including Patricia´s.

I changed it out today, but the info didn´t transfer. Que Lastima! Maybe I can figure out a way to trace it thru past calls. I don´t know. Only me could this happen to.

The Spanish are not masters of technology, so I don´t know what we can do with the SIM. And who the fuck designs a patio with a space big enough for everything that drops to fall off.

It was funny when it was a water bottle and hit no one. Ditto the lighter. Annoying when it was a hotdog that rolled of the cue. But my phone...ay caramba!

I´m sure I can trace her down sooner or later thru friends if i can get her number out of the new phone. So it goes. Oh, and then I watched a slideshow of Sue and Annie that was beautiful. Happy, happy - joy, joy. I was so bummed by the time I went to bed. Oh well. I get up, I get down.

It was GREAT date though. Just not sure when the next one will be. In the words of Uncle Kurt,¨So it goes.¨
