• The stock market is a wreck. I taught a class yesterday on the bank crisis and the subprime crisis for Barclay's - how surreal is that?
• Atletico thrashed PSV Eindenhoven, in Holland, 3 - 0. Also surreal.
• Beau and I watched the Champions League games at an Irish bar and then went to this little Sangria bar, in a cellar, with an old time piano player. This guy was 107 if he was a day and the hot girls were all over him. Ditto.
• The Mets are out of 1st but now have the wild card thanks to the Phils sweeping the Brewers last weekend. The Mets can't collapse again - can they?

I don't have any answers. I'm just a spectator in this mad passion play. Same as I ever was.
